Trevor Lawrence<\/a> came into the NFL with the type of hype few quarterbacks have seen in the league\u2019s illustrious history. He\u2019s been solid with the Jaguars, but he\u2019s never blossomed into the top-tier quarterback many expected him to evolve into in Jacksonville.<\/p>\n

The team still believes in their starter, as they undergo a seismic shift with offensive guru Liam Coen<\/a> hired to take him to the next level. Will it come to fruition? ESPN analysts like Dan Orlovsky, Jeremy Fowler and Damien Woody debated on Monday\u2019s edition of Get Up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs Trevor Lawrence going to become more than average? That\u2019s what he\u2019s been the last three years,\u201d Orlovesky wondered. \u201cThere\u2019s been a little bit of turmoil. It\u2019s been up and down, his QBR in the last three seasons. They have a new head coach in Liam Coen, one of these bright offensive minds in the NFL. They\u2019ve got a guy that was Offensive Rookie of the Year caliber in Brian Thomas Jr.<\/a> Obviously, the addition Travis Hunter<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cCan he get more consistent? Can he lead like he hasn\u2019t done before? Can he become a difference maker for Jacksonville? Under the most pressure on any quarterback in their conference.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orlovsky is questioning whether or not Lawrence is capable, but Fowler wouldn\u2019t put all of the blame simply on the quarterback for his struggles. No matter what though, it\u2019ll come down to whether Lawrence can reach a new level in 2025. The bottom line is he has to play better.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not a bust, but he\u2019s not helping himself,\u201d Fowler added. \u201cWhen you talk to people in Jacksonville they say, \u2018Look, we still believe in him, but there\u2019s that feeling around there that\u2019s like, Hey, you\u2019re on your third head coach in four to five years. It\u2019s time to get this done and be more consistent week-in, week-out.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u201cHe shows the flashes. Then, he\u2019ll have weeks where you\u2019re thinking, \u2018Hey, is this a Thursday or Sunday that we\u2019re playing here?\u2019 So it\u2019s a bit of a mess. Jacksonville hasn\u2019t always helped him, but he\u2019s got to play better. He has to be more accurate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finally, Woody was a bit more blunt with his evaluation. He\u2019s of the opinion that it\u2019s put-up-or-shut-up time for the former Clemson<\/a> star: \u201cNow or never. Excuses are over-with,\u201d the former NFL offensive lineman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re getting paid too much money to be going out there and putting that type of product out there. I don\u2019t want to hear about the past or whatever. Liam Coen is in Jacksonville because of you, to fix you. If you can\u2019t get it done, that\u2019s bust material, in my opinion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trevor Lawrence has been a middle of the road quarterback over the past few seasons. It\u2019s fair for Jaguars fans and NFL analysts alike to expect more from him in 2025.
