CLEMSON \u2014 Last month, news broke that true freshman Marquise Henderson had been dismissed from the Clemson Football team.<\/p>\n
The in-state talent, out of Belton-Honea Path, signed with the Tigers as a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He was an early enrollee and was on campus for spring practice. <\/p>\n
However, Henderson dealt with injuries, as well as behavioral issues, and was not present for the spring game.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, head coach Dabo Swinney was asked about Henderson\u2019s dismissal during Clemson Football\u2019s Media Outing.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt just didn\u2019t work out,\u201d Swinney said from the Smart Family Media Center. \u201cThere is a standard here and it just didn\u2019t work out. Hate it for him, but wish him well.\u201d<\/p>\n
After his dismissal, Henderson quickly entered the transfer portal and announced a commitment to Liberty.<\/p>\n
The record-setting running back at nearby Belton-Honea Path (S.C.) High School, led his team to the 2024 State Class AAAA Semifinals in the state of South Carolina.
