Colts’ QB Anthony Richardson is reportedly going to be “good” for training camp.<\/p>\n

Some Anthony Richardson\/Daniel Jones conversation with tidbits from Adam Schefter: pic.twitter.com\/von4oZidaB<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Stephen Holder (@HolderStephen) July 14, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Stephen Holder, who covers the Indianapolis Colts<\/a> for ESPN, recently appeared on an episode of NFL Live and provided a positive update on quarterback Anthony Richardson.<\/p>\n Richardson missed most of OTAs and minicamp due to a shoulder injury–the same shoulder that he had surgery on back in 2023, and forced him to miss most of his rookie season.<\/p>\n “Now, the good news here,” Holder said, “Anthony Richardson’s shoulder, everything I’ve heard indicates that’s going to be good going into training camp. I’ve seen a video of him throwing the football; he looks strong there, but he has to, I think, overcome the concept and the narrative that he is consistently hurt. Daniel Jones potentially offers a solution there.”<\/p>\n This report from Holder aligns with what Richardson said<\/a> a few weeks ago about his own status for training camp.<\/p>\n “I’m gonna be out there spinning it and getting ready for the season,” Richardson told 247Sports’ Zach Goodall<\/a>. “I’m all good, just another bump in the road. And it’s not really even a bump in the road. I feel like I tripped, I fell. Just got back up and hit the ground running again.”<\/p>\n With Richardson sidelined for much of the on-field portion of offseason programs, Daniel Jones got the bulk of the first-team reps, and Shane Steichen was “very pleased” with what he saw from the veteran quarterback.<\/p>\n Jones’ performance in early June won’t determine who the starting quarterback is come Week 1, but he does likely enter training camp with the upper hand, and Richardson will have to hit the ground running.<\/p>\n From the sounds of it, Richardson will be available for the first practice, which for the Colts<\/a> is on July 23rd. However, something to watch for is whether or not he is a full participant. As\u00a0Shane Steichen mentioned<\/a> during offseason programs, a ramp-up period may be needed upon his return.<\/p>\n
