{"id":21085,"date":"2025-05-03T17:27:09","date_gmt":"2025-05-03T17:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/21085\/"},"modified":"2025-05-03T17:27:09","modified_gmt":"2025-05-03T17:27:09","slug":"new-york-giants-parting-ways-with-national-scout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/21085\/","title":{"rendered":"New York Giants parting ways with national scout"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"Hn0Glj\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bigblueview.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Giants<\/a> have <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/InsideTheLeague\/status\/1918496125356552653\" rel=\"nofollow\">parted ways with national scout Mike Derice<\/a>, who had been with the team since 2022. <\/p>\n<p id=\"Z3L1kH\">Neil Stratton of <a href=\"http:\/\/InsidetheLeague.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">InsidetheLeague.com<\/a> called the move \u201ca major surprise\u201d and added that Derice, who is \u201chighly-regarded around the league\u201d, should find a new opportunity this offseason.<\/p>\n<p id=\"zwVLay\">Before joining the Colts, Derice played and then worked at Stony Brook.<\/p>\n<p id=\"3yJpNy\">Before joining the Giants in Joe Schoen\u2019s first season as GM, Derice spent 10 years as a scout with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stampedeblue.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"RllOk7\">This post-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbnation.com\/nfl-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NFL Draft<\/a> period is the time of year when scouting staffs and front offices across the league generally undergo shakeups.
