Newly acquired Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jonnu Smith recently spoke on being traded to Pittsburgh and how money is just a reflection of who you are.<\/p>\n
\u201cBest organization in the whole league, \u201d Smith said on joining the Steelers in an interview with Brayden Zaroff.<\/p>\n

Smith also shared advice for young kids who have aspirations of playing in the NFL.<\/p>\n
\u201cStay down to you come up. Enjoy the process, the journey more than you enjoy the actual goal,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n
Smith is heading into his ninth year in the NFL. He\u2019s earned $51.8 million in his career<\/a>. His deal with the Steelers is a two-year, $16 million deal that includes $7.745 million guaranteed (signing bonus).<\/p>\n Zaroff asked Smith about his Rolls-Royce and the concept of money.<\/p>\n \u201cMoney is just a reflection of who you are,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Smith, who grew up in North Philadelphia, comes from humble beginnings.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, not at all. I\u2019m a trench baby,\u201d Smith said when Zaroff asked him if he grew up rich.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Zaroff then asked Smith how did he set high expectations to get where he is today.<\/p>\n \u201cYou got to want it. Listen, there\u2019s a lane for everything. Like what you\u2019re doing right now. There\u2019s a lane for it. You know what I\u2019m saying?\u201d Smith said. \u201cWhatever you love to do, there\u2019s a lane for it to be successful in it, man. Just always enjoy the process. Fall in love with the process rather than fall in love with the goal.\u201d<\/p>\n Smith, 29, is coming off the best season of his eight-year NFL career. In 2024, he\u00a0recorded a career-high<\/a>\u00a088 catches for 884 yards and eight touchdowns. Smith was also named to his first Pro Bowl last season.<\/p>\n The Steelers agreed to give him a one-year, $12 million extension<\/a> as part of the trade with Miami.
