(WHTM) \u2014 Philadelphia Eagles standout runningback Saquon Barkley took home a second notable award in Wednesday\u2019s ESPY Awards.<\/p>\n

The former Penn Stater from the Lehigh Valley was named Best NFL Player in the award ceremony broadcast live on ESPN and ABC.<\/p>\n

He bested Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, Denver Broncos DB Patrick Surtain II and Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.<\/p>\n

This past year, he earned the NFL\u2019s Offensive Player of the Year award after he ran for 2,005 yards and scored 13 rushing touchdowns. He was pivotal in helping the Philadelphia Eagles win the Lombardi Trophy against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.<\/p>\n

The former Nittany Lion has won an ESPYS award for Breakout Athlete in 2019 after his rookie season with the New York Giants, where he rushed for 1,307 yards and had 11 touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Barkley also won the award for Best Play<\/a> in Wednesday\u2019s ceremony. He was nominated for Best Men\u2019s Sports Athlete alongside Allen, Oklahoma City Thunder PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Los Angeles Dodgers Pitcher Shohei Ohtani. Gilgeous-Alexander won the award.<\/p>\n
