The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.<\/p>\n

Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.<\/p>\n

Next up is inside linebacker Mack Wilson Sr.<\/p>\n

Mack Wilson Sr. background, 2024 season<\/p>\n

After playing at Alabama, Wilson was selected by the Browns<\/a> in the fifth round of the 2019 draft. Traded to the Patriots<\/a> on March 16, 2022, he played two seasons in New England before signing as an unrestricted free agent with the Cardinals on March 14, 2024.<\/p>\n

Wilson started a total of only four games with the Patriots in those two seasons, but was everything the Cardinals hoped he\u2019d be last season as an immediate starter. In 16 starts (he was inactive for one game because of a concussion), Wilson played 763 defensive snaps (75 percent) and also played 18 snaps on special teams. He was fourth on the team with 75 tackles (44 solo, four for loss), and had 3.0 sacks, seven quarterback hits, an interception, fumble recovery and five passes defensed.<\/p>\n

Mack Wilson Sr. 2025 contract details, cap hit<\/p>\n

The three-year contract he signed in 2024 was worth $12.75 million with $6.445 million guaranteed, including a $3.5 million signing bonus. Wilson\u2019s base salary for this year is $3 million with $1 million guaranteed and his salary-cap charge is $4.957 million.<\/p>\n

2025 questions, roster outlook<\/p>\n

Wilson was a quick study in coordinator Nick Rallis\u2019 defense last season, and it is expected he will be even better in 2025. The only question is who will line up beside him as the Mike linebacker following the departure of Kyzir White.<\/p>\n
