Mike Green will not be a training camp holdout after signing a four-year rookie contract with the Baltimore Ravens<\/a> that could pay the pass rusher $7.5 million guaranteed.<\/p>\n

Baltimore selected the All-American pass rusher with pick No. 59, and reports are that the former Marshall star pass rusher and 29 other second-round picks were haggling over guaranteed money on the standard four-year deal.<\/p>\n

Ravens<\/a> rookies reported for training camp this week with veterans set to report Tuesday, so inking Green means he can now take the field with his teammates.<\/p>\n

First-round picks usually have guaranteed four-year deals with a potential fifth-year option, but up until this past April, fully guaranteed contracts weren’t the norm for second-round picks. That all changed when the Texans<\/a> gave Jayden Higgins, the 34th overall pick, the first fully guaranteed contract ever<\/a> for a second-round pick on May 8. On May 9, the Browns<\/a> followed suit, offering Carson Schwesinger, the 33rd overall pick in the second round, a fully guaranteed contract as well<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a touchy scenario for Baltimore, which had an urgent need for more explosion at the edge rusher position, so they landed the draft’s most talented but questionable prospect.<\/p>\n

Last season, as a redshirt sophomore, Green led the FBS in sacks (17.0), tackles for loss (22.5), sack yardage (144), and tackles by a defensive lineman (84).<\/p>\n

His 17 sacks established a new Sun Belt Conference record.<\/p>\n

The Ravens also placed safety Ar’Darius Washington on the active\/physically unable to perform list. Washington suffered a torn Achilles in mid-May but is expected to return to the field in November or December.<\/p>\n
