{"id":216595,"date":"2025-07-18T10:32:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-18T10:32:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/216595\/"},"modified":"2025-07-18T10:32:19","modified_gmt":"2025-07-18T10:32:19","slug":"colts-qb-anthony-richardson-recovered-from-shoulder-injury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/216595\/","title":{"rendered":"Colts QB Anthony Richardson \u2018recovered\u2019 from shoulder injury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is the latest update on Colts QB Anthony Richardson\u2019s shoulder with training camp near.<\/p>\n<p>(This story was updated to add new information.)<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week, ESPN\u2019s Stephen Holder said on an appearance on NFL Live that <a href=\"https:\/\/coltswire.usatoday.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Indianapolis Colts<\/a> quarterback Anthony Richardson would be <a href=\"https:\/\/coltswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/colts\/2025\/07\/15\/report-indianpolis-colts-anthony-richardson-good-training-camp\/85214167007\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cgood\u201d<\/a> for training camp.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/45762744\/source-colts-qb-anthony-richardson-shoulder-believed-ok\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Holder expanded<\/a> on that initial report.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anthony Richardson Sr. is believed to have recovered from his recent right shoulder setback as the team prepares to report for training camp next week,\u201d Holder wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Holder adds that with the players being away, the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/indianapolis-colts\/338\" data-autotag=\"d3fda36a-3eb5-4700-8763-caba831c06ae\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Colts<\/a>\u2019 medical staff will still have to examine Richardson\u2019s shoulder prior to training camp beginning. Holder also mentions the possibility of a \u201cpitch count\u201d early on for Richardson as he ramps up, but he has been throwing &#8220;with velocity&#8221; during the off time.<\/p>\n<p>A shoulder injury sidelined Richardson for much of OTAs and all of minicamp, allowing Daniel Jones to take the bulk of the first-team reps. Shane Steichen was &#8220;very pleased&#8221; with what he saw from Jones.<\/p>\n<p>Jones&#8217; performance in early June won&#8217;t determine who the starting quarterback is come Week 1, but he does likely enter training camp with the upper hand, and Richardson will have to hit the ground running.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Here is the latest update on Colts QB Anthony Richardson\u2019s shoulder with training camp near.
