{"id":218478,"date":"2025-07-19T03:28:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-19T03:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/218478\/"},"modified":"2025-07-19T03:28:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-19T03:28:11","slug":"patriots-avoid-major-issue-dish-out-unprecedented-rookie-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/218478\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriots Avoid Major Issue, Dish Out Unprecedented Rookie Contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The New England Patriots <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AdamSchefter\/status\/1946329358961893862\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">reached agreement<\/a> on a fully-guaranteed deal with rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, according to ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a good thing they did, too\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The NFL as a whole has seemingly <a href=\"https:\/\/nesn.com\/2025\/07\/patriots-could-soon-have-major-contract-issue-on-hands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">avoided a major issue<\/a>, as the majority of second-round picks from the 2025 NFL Draft who remained unsigned as some teams started reporting to training camp, almost all started putting pen to paper on Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Henderson became the 18th second-round pick to agree to terms on a contract across the two-day stretch, and the fifth to get his money fully guaranteed. Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger, Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins, Seattle Seahawks safety Nick Emmanwori and Miami Dolphins guard Jonah Savaiinaea \u2014 four of the five picks made before him \u2014 are the others.<\/p>\n<p>Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins is the only player in that group that hasn\u2019t signed, and likely won\u2019t anytime soon <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/18\/sports\/browns-tell-quinshon-judkins-to-stay-home-after-ugly-accusations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">after being arrested last weekend<\/a> on a domestic violence charge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Henderson\u2019s deal is worth $11.14 million and will carry into 2029.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>New England\u2019s rookies report for training camp on Saturday, making the timing of this deal rather convenient.
