The 42nd overall pick is the last member of New York\u2019s 2025 draft class to sign his rookie contract.<\/p>\n<p>Full terms, as reported by NFL Network\u2019s Cameron Wolfe, detail a four-year standard rookie deal for Taylor worth $10.46 million, of which $9.56 million (91.3%) is expected to be fully guaranteed.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Jets and 2nd round rookie TE Mason Taylor have agreed terms on 4-year, $10.46 million deal with 91.3% of deal guaranteed ($9.56 million), per his agent Sammy Spina <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sammyjspina?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">@sammyjspina<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor gets 60% of year 4 salary guaranteed, 55% increase from slot No.42 last year. He had been one of 30 second-round picks who had failed to do so when the week began.<\/p>\n<p>There was a reason for this. <\/p>\n<p>Unlike first-round selections, second-round picks are not required to have fully guaranteed contracts by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns set a new precedent, though, by agreeing to terms with their second-round picks for fully guaranteed amounts. <\/p>\n<p>Other teams around the league hadn\u2019t been willing to match what Cleveland and Houston did.<\/p>\n<p>The Jets got close, though.<\/p>\n<p>Over 91% of Taylor\u2019s contract is set to be guaranteed. That will provide the tight end with some stability that comes with being a high draft pick. <\/p>\n<p>Taylor is expected to compete for the Jets\u2019 starting tight end role in training camp.
