If you ask former Jets safety Victor Green, absolutely. <\/p>\n
In a post on X, replying to a video posted by Adams of him working out, Green wrote, \u201cLet\u2019s go @nyjets. He\u2019s ready to compete. Looking good.\u201d<\/p>\n
Selected sixth overall by the Jets in 2017, Adams wasted little time establishing himself as a cornerstone of the Jets\u2019 defense. A vocal leader and dynamic playmaker, Adams earned two Pro Bowl selections and a first-team All-Pro nod by the end of his third season, cementing his place among the league\u2019s top safeties.<\/p>\n
However, by 2020, tensions between Adams and the Jets\u2019 front office had reached a breaking point. Contract disputes and public drama ultimately led to a trade request, one that the Jets honored by sending him to Seattle in exchange for a haul that included two first-round picks. Those selections would later turn into wide receiver Garrett Wilson and offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker.<\/p>\n
Adams signed a four-year, $70 million deal with the Seahawks, briefly becoming the highest-paid safety in NFL history. Yet, injuries derailed his stint in Seattle, and he was released this past March.<\/p>\n
After a short stop with the Titans, the self-proclaimed \u201cPrez\u201d finished the season with the Detroit Lions and remains a free agent with training camp kicking off next week, a far cry from his All-Pro days in green and white.<\/p>\n
