Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly is asking NFL fans to keep his family in their thoughts this weekend.<\/p>\n

Kelly had an incredible run with the Bills, earning Pro Bowl honors five times and making the Super Bowl four times. Unfortunately, he has dealt with a ton of obstacles over the years.\u00a0In 2023, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in his jaw. He then\u00a0contracted MRSA within his bones.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, Kelly has been\u00a0cancer free for a few years now. The bad news, however, is that\u00a0daughter Erin’s newborn child was born with unexpected medical complications.<\/p>\n

“Our continued prayer is that Little Bean\u2019s body will begin to heal and adjust to all that took place this morning\u2026 that his body will strengthen\u2026 and that, in time, he\u2019ll be able to come off the ventilator and be able to go home. We are trusting God for strength, for restoration, and for many little miracles in the days ahead. Please also cover Parker and Erin in prayer. They are physically and emotionally exhausted \u2014 yet holding onto gratitude, hope, and deep faith in the One who holds their precious baby boy,” Kelly said.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Kelly asked NFL fans to pray for his grandson.<\/p>\n

“Please continue to pray for our Little Bean. While we are so grateful that his procedure went well, the road ahead is still long and filled with many intricate, delicate steps in his healing journey,” Kelly wrote on Instagram<\/a>. “There\u2019s so much happening beneath the surface \u2014 things only God can fully see and understand. We are praying specifically that Little Bean\u2019s body will begin to heal and adjust to everything that took place\u2026That his lungs and heart and all of his other vital organs will grow stronger\u2026That he\u2019ll be able to come off the ventilator and breathe on his own.That every organ, every function, every breath will align and respond to the intervention and critical care he\u2019s receiving.<\/p>\n

“This journey is very complex – and we\u2019re trusting the One who knit him together to continue holding every detail in His hands.Please also lift up Erin and Parker. They\u2019re carrying so much as parents, and they need strength, peace, and rest in the waiting.”<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, NFL fans are sending kind thoughts to the Kelly family.<\/p>\n

“Sending love & healing prayers for Baby Bean, Erin, Parker,” one fan replied.<\/p>\n

“Wow we all are praying for little bean. As well as for your deserving family. May the weight come off soon,” a second fan wrote.<\/p>\n

“Praying for Erin, Parker and their sweet baby Bean,” another fan said. “Asking God to be present in every step of this journey, to steady the minds and hands of every provider and to sustain him as he heals. Sending you all love and lots of hope<\/p>\n

We’re hoping the next update from Kelly is a positive one.<\/p>\n
