The Arizona Cardinals signed defensive lineman Kyon Barrs on Saturday, according to the league\u2019s transactions page.<\/p>\n

Barrs was one of five interior defenders who had tryouts with the team<\/a> on Friday. The 6-foot-2, 290-pounder went undrafted out of USC in 2024 after spending four prior seasons with the Arizona Wildcats.<\/p>\n

Barrs had 102 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks over 51 games at Arizona (2019-22). He made Second Team All-Pac 12 in his third year.<\/p>\n

He produced less in his final season of college after a transfer to USC, where he had 18 tackles in 13 games.<\/p>\n

Barrs originally signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He most recently played for the Arlington Renegades in the UFL, where he had 16 tackles, one sack and four QB hurries, per PFF. He was a top-10 lineman in run defense for the league.<\/p>\n

How Kyon Barrs fits on Cardinals roster<\/p>\n

Barrs fills the vacant roster spot left by veteran cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, who will not play this season after he was placed on the non-football injury list<\/a> in May.<\/p>\n

Defensive line received the most attention of any position from Cardinals brass this offseason, whether it was adding the stout Dalvin Tomlinson or familiar face Calais Campbell. Premier addition Josh Sweat and a healthier BJ Ojulari help round out the EDGEs.<\/p>\n

The position groups were hit hard by injuries a year ago, as Ojulari joined Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols as defenders whose seasons ended prematurely.<\/p>\n

The Cardinals open training camp<\/a> at State Farm Stadium on Thursday.<\/p>\n
