(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox8live.com\/2025\/07\/20\/former-edna-karr-football-standout-corey-adams-fatally-shot-tennessee-reports-say\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.fox8live.com\/2025\/07\/20\/former-edna-karr-football-standout-corey-adams-fatally-shot-tennessee-reports-say\/\">WVUE<\/a>\/Gray News) &#8211; An Ole Miss football player was killed and four people were injured after a shooting in Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The shooting happened before 10:15 p.m. outside a home on Fern Glade Cove Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Deputies said they stopped a vehicle and found a male gunshot victim inside. They provided life-saving measures but the victim, identified as New Orleans native Corey Adams, died at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The 18-year-old died weeks before he was expected to play his freshman football season for Ole Miss.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"A man is dead after a shooting on Sunday night, according to the Shelby County Sheriff\u2019s Office.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/BRHLEDW44RACZHFVWTDGMNDASQ.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>A man is dead after a shooting on Sunday night, according to the Shelby County Sheriff\u2019s Office.(SCSO)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Authorities said four other men later arrived at the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. However, none of the other shooting victims\u2019 injuries were considered critical, the sheriff\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Ole Miss Football <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OleMissFB\/status\/1946967587289456809\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OleMissFB\/status\/1946967587289456809\">posted a brief statement on X <\/a>acknowledging the player\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe are devastated to learn that Corey Adams, a freshman on the team, passed away last night in Cordova, Tennessee, the post said. \u201dWhile our program is trying to cope with this tragic loss, our thoughts are with his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cOut of respect for his family, we will not be commenting further at this time. We ask the Ole Miss community to keep Corey in their thoughts and respect the privacy of everyone involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">No arrests in connection with the shooting have been reported.
