It holds true with Colson, who says the coach has helped with more than just what he’s looking to improve on in live action.<\/p>\n

“Huge. He sees it in the eyes of a player, so he knows what we need, what the best thing is for us in those moments,” Colson said. “‘Here’s what I did, it might not work for you but maybe take some ideas off that cause we each got different bodies.’<\/p>\n

“He’s been a great tool great thing, especially in the offseason,” Colson added. “He showed me a couple things I should add to my regiment, just staying healthy and staying on top of everything, staying in shape, being able to run around. I think he’s been one of those staples.”<\/p>\n

The veteran Perryman has also been a major source for Colson, who has helped as one of the most experienced members of the team.<\/p>\n

Perryman has liked what he’s seen from Colson and has big expectations for the 22-year-old in 2025.<\/p>\n

“A breakout year,” Perryman said. “Last year probably didn’t go as well as he wanted to with injuries and things like that. I understand that because I’ve been through there.<\/p>\n

“Just the way he’s gone about his business in the meeting room and on the field, I expect a breakout season from him,” Perryman added. “There’s going to be a lot of competition going on.”<\/p>\n

The linebacker competition<\/a> will be something to watch, as Colson will be in the thick of it heading into the regular season.<\/p>\n

Colson will have plenty of chances to make his mark in the room as the pads come on Tuesday and preseason games rapidly approach \u2014 and he’s looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

“I think it’s heating up,” Colson said about the linebacker competition. “We have some really good guys.<\/p>\n
