CANTON, Ohio (AP) \u2014 The Texas Fury Texans and Jaguars Elite won titles in the NFL Flag Championships on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Texans beat the Bad Rabbits Cowboys 19-0 to win the High School Girls division. The team, which is represented by the Houston Texans, is made up of athletes from the Austin area. The Dallas Cowboys represent the Bad Rabbits, who hail from Calexico, Calif. The Bad Rabbits were last year’s national champions.<\/p>\n
Emery Beckett completed all eight of her pass attempts in the title game for the Texans, throwing two touchdown passes to\u00a0Zahra\u00a0Hill and one to Kelsey Quinn. Beckett, a Lake Travis High School junior, was named MVP of the tournament. Their coach, Keenan Hughes, was recently hired as the first coach for the women’s flag football team at Concordia University in Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n
The Jaguars beat Showtime 13-0 to take the 14U Boys championship.<\/p>\n
The Jaguars were led by tournament MVP Brysen Wright, whose\u00a0one-handed catch<\/a>\u00a0earlier in the event drew an incredulous\u00a0social media response<\/a>\u00a0from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
