CAM Ward’s teammates want him to get the respect he deserves from the NFL media.<\/p>\n

Ward<\/a> was the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL<\/a> Draft, but isn’t getting much of a spotlight this season.<\/p>\n

Titans defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons made it known that people shouldn’t overlook the Titans this year.<\/p>\n

“First off, I think that our team \u2014 the Tennessee Titans \u2014 never get the respect and attention we need,” Simmons told Good Morning Football on Thursday. <\/p>\n

“I’ve never seen the No. 1 pick overall never get the respect and, quite frankly, the attention that he deserves.”<\/p>\n

Ward has only been a member of the Titans<\/a> for a few months, but he is already performing like a longtime veteran.<\/p>\n

“It was after a play, we stopped him, and I think I ended up getting a sack,” Simmons said.<\/p>\n

“All of the sudden, we’re talking smack and Cally (head coach Brian Callahan) is giving him the dang play and I’m still talking smack to him, I’m jawing because that’s my game \u2014 I want to talk smack, I want to get in your head.<\/p>\n

“It didn’t faze him. He’s still talking smack while Cally’s getting the play to him. <\/p>\n

“He’s giving the play to the offense, still talking smack to me. When they gave him that play and came to the line, the next play after the smack talk, he threw an 80-yard bomb to Calvin Ridley. <\/p>\n

“So, that right there showed me we got us one. He’s legit.”<\/p>\n

Simmons wants people to know that Ward is coming into the 2025 season with a chip on his shoulder.<\/p>\n

Barely anyone is talking about him right now, but he is going to make sure they do once they see him play.<\/p>\n

“I think where we’re at right now with him not getting enough praise, who is not known as a No. 1 pick overall or don’t get the attention and the praise that he deserve,” Simmons said. <\/p>\n

“But I think that’s a chip on his shoulder. You could tell by the way he goes about his business — his swagger, his demeanor — this gonna be one of the ones that I’m excited to see. <\/p>\n

“I’m excited to get back to camp next week to be more around him and learn a little more about him.”<\/p>\n

Ward was already expected to be the Titans’ starter Week 1, but it was all but confirmed with a surprise surgery for Will Levis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“After consulting with doctors and his representatives, Will Levis has decided to undergo shoulder surgery that will sideline him for the entire 2025 season,” the Titans said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“We support his decision to focus on his long-term health. He approached the offseason with professionalism and showed clear growth as a leader. <\/p>\n
