The Giants, of course, ended up selecting multiple players in the first round for the third time since 2019, adding Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart.

ESPN’s Matt Miller ranked the 100 best picks based not just purely on talent, but factoring in value, as well. The Giants were well represented with three of their selections making the list:

8. Abdul Carter, Edge, New York Giants (Pick 1-3)

My final overall ranking: No. 1

Having my top-ranked player “fall” to No. 3 actually represents great value, but Carter is also a great fit in a Giants defense that has established stars in defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II and edge rusher Brian Burns. Carter doesn’t have to carry the defense right away and can be used the way the Cowboys used Micah Parsons as a rookie. He’ll play some linebacker, rush the passer and be a defensive chess piece.

Carter seems like a slam dunk and some would argue there is not a better situation for the Penn State product to enter, lining up alongside Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence. Carter was not, however, the only Giants first-rounder to make the list.

36. Jaxson Dart, QB, New York Giants (Pick 1-25)

My final overall ranking: No. 37

The Giants traded back into Round 1 to pick Dart, securing the fifth-year option on a quarterback who needs to develop. Dart can learn from veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, and coach Brian Daboll’s ability to maximize QBs who threaten defenses with their legs puts the rookie in a great spot to become a solid starter in time.

Like Carter, Dart is coming into a great situation. Dart will not start right away, as the Giants have already stated that veteran Russell Wilson will be their starter. Not only will Dart have a season to learn from the veteran quarterbacks on the roster, but he’s also be joining a team run by head coach Brian Daboll, who many hold in high regard for his ability to groom young quarterbacks. Dart’s game resembles the style of Josh Allen, who Daboll worked with prior to coming to New York. If Dart is anywhere close to the talent level of the Buffalo Bills quarterback, the Giants are in for a treat.

85. Marcus Mbow, G, New York Giants (Pick 5-154)

My final overall ranking: No. 66

Mbow was a value win, as the Giants selected him in Round 5 even though he had a third-round grade as a developmental prospect. Mbow could even be the team’s long-term answer at right tackle.

The Giants’ fifth-round selection is someone the fan base is pretty excited about. Mbow fills a need to bolster the Giants’ offensive line, adding depth to the 2025 roster while also giving the Giants a possible starter as soon as the 2026 season.

It’s interesting to note that two of the three players who made the list for the Giants are players in the trenches with Carter and Mbow. In fact, three of the Giants’ first five selections were players on either the offensive or defensive line. This is a change of pace from Schoen’s draft strategy where the Giants drafted no players on either the offensive or defensive line in 2024.

Of course, although the draft class seems very strong on paper, the results won’t be determined until at least their rookie season is over. Schoen had his best draft class in 2024 based on the strong rookie season from the class as a whole. Schoen hopes to hit a home run again with the 2025 draft class, although there is a good chance we don’t get to see Jaxson Dart play much in his rookie year.

Following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL draft, many believe the Giants were among the teams to come…

[4
857,247,265,2935,1483,4889,230,229,257,10115,10116,19,12,388,7,519,2512,379,856,872,2941,147,248,267,206,56,88,6,15,1640,245,537,1639,1644,530,2942,572,9,266,376,1434,225
0":"post-22780","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-nfl-draft","8":"tag-allen","9":"tag-american","10":"tag-american-football","11":"tag-brian","12":"tag-brian-burns","13":"tag-burns","14":"tag-cowboys","15":"tag-dallas","16":"tag-dallas-cowboys","17":"tag-dexter","18":"tag-dexter-lawrence-ii","19":"tag-draft","20":"tag-espn","21":"tag-espn-inc","22":"tag-football","23":"tag-giants","24":"tag-ii","25":"tag-inc","26":"tag-josh","27":"tag-josh-allen","28":"tag-lawrence","29":"tag-lions","30":"tag-national","31":"tag-national-sports","32":"tag-new","33":"tag-new-york-giants","34":"tag-news","35":"tag-nfl","36":"tag-nfl-draft","37":"tag-nittany","38":"tag-overall","39":"tag-overall-positive","40":"tag-penn","41":"tag-penn-state-nittany-lions-football","42":"tag-positive","43":"tag-russell","44":"tag-russell-wilson","45":"tag-sports","46":"tag-sports-news","47":"tag-state","48":"tag-wilson","49":"tag-york
["GET
