DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – A DeKalb County high school football player died after experiencing a medical emergency at practice, according to the school district.<\/p>\n
What we know:<\/p>\n
The district said the player suffered a medical emergency during practice Tuesday at Arabia Mountain High School. He later died.<\/p>\n
School officials identified the player as Mikah King. \u00a0<\/p>\n
According to several high school football statistics websites, including Max Preps<\/a> and Hudl<\/a>, King was a rising sophomore who played as a guard, defensive tackle and center for the Rams.\u00a0<\/p>\n What’s next:<\/p>\n There will be grief counselors at the school for students and staff who need to process the death.<\/p>\n What they’re saying:<\/p>\n “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and school during this difficult time,” the district said in a written statement.<\/p>\n This story is breaking.
