The Green Bay Packers<\/a> continue to get familiar company this offseason.<\/p>\n

And it certainly didn’t take long.<\/p>\n

Just days after the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs last Sunday<\/a>, the two other NFC North powerhouse teams were also bounced from the postseason.<\/p>\n

First, it was the 14-win Minnesota Vikings in the wild-card round the next day, and then almost shockingly the 15-win Detroit Lions joined them this past weekend<\/a> with a loss of their own.<\/p>\n

The NFC North had the most teams in the playoffs of any division with three, the three teams totaled a combined 40 regular-season wins, and the Lions, who won the division on the final day of the regular season<\/a>, were the top seed in the NFC<\/a> with home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.<\/p>\n

None of that mattered in the playoffs<\/a>. The result: Zero wins with the Packers, Vikings and Lions all losing their games by double digits. Vacation started earlier than all three envisioned.<\/p>\n

The Lions were the oddsmakers favorite to win the Super Bowl<\/a> and were a confident bunch. But Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels<\/a> had other ideas and pounced on the Lions, 45-31, in the divisional round Saturday night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Packers, who have had plenty of time on their hands since losing to the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> Jan. 12 in the wild-card round, were clearly watching.<\/p>\n

“Somebody tell them boys in Detroit I got a extra room at the villa in Cabo,” cornerback and kickoff returner Keisean Nixon wrote on X Sunday night along with a laughing face emoji.<\/p>\n

Xavier McKinney<\/a>, meanwhile, appeared to have a dig at Lions safety Kerby Joseph<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“And like I said .. we not the SAME,” he wrote on X Saturday night after the Lions’ game.<\/p>\n

McKinney made a similar comment a week earlier after the NFL’s All-Pro teams were announced<\/a>. Both McKinney and Joseph were named first-team All-Pro safeties. There has been no love lost between the Packers and Joseph this season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And in a since-deleted post on X, wide receiver Jayden Reed wrote: “Down goes Frazier.”<\/p>\n

That, of course, is a reference to Howard Cosell’s famous call of boxer Joe Frazier getting taken down by George Foreman in a boxing match in 1973.<\/p>\n

The Packers can’t talk much since they didn’t put up a fight in their playoff game<\/a>, either, and ended the season with three straight losses.<\/p>\n

And while they’re having a good laugh at the Lions’ expense, Detroit beat them twice in 2024<\/a> and the Packers are 1-6 in the last seven games against Dan Campbell’s team.<\/p>\n
