The Ravens sat there in round one with the No. 27 pick in last week’s draft … and Eagles GM Howie Roseman decided he coveted that slot.<\/p>\n

As the clock ticked, the Eagles got on the phone …<\/p>\n
And as revealed in a new social media video that takes you behind-the-scenes and into the Eagles war room?<\/p>\n
There’s Roseman seen calling up Ravens GM Eric DeCosta.<\/p>\n
“Hey, buddy. Any interest in moving back?” Roseman asked DeCosta on the phone. “Do you want stuff this year or would you look at next year?”<\/p>\n
In the end?<\/p>\n
The Ravens kept their pick and chose Georgia safety Malaki Starks – and they are pleased.<\/p>\n
And in the end?<\/p>\n
The Eagles made another call to make their first-round trade, jumping up just a single spot from No. 32 to 31 with the Chiefs, at which time\u00a0Philadelphia then selected Alabama linebacker Jihaad Campbell – and they are pleased, too.<\/p>\n
The Ravens GM hinted at some of this right after the draft.<\/p>\n

“We had some opportunities to trade back,” DeCosta said. “In the end, you have to look at the excitement of actually getting some additional picks, which we do love, versus what kind of player are you going to get, potentially …<\/p>\n
“I think looking at the quality of player that we had with Starks versus what we might have to get, it just didn’t make enough sense for me.”<\/p>\n
The Eagles are pleased and the Ravens are pleased and we bet NFL fans who get a peek at this stuff are pleased as well.<\/p>\n
