The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> weren’t the only team who held their opening training camp practice on Wednesday. It was essentially a league-wide event. In East Rutherford, former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson made his Giants<\/a> training camp debut.<\/p>\n

The Giants’ QB room is loaded with potential contenders. Despite that, head coach Brian Daboll wanted to ensure there’s no quarterback controversy narrative for the NY media to run with. Daboll told reporters that Wilson is the Giants’ unquestioned starter at quarterback.<\/p>\n

The Giants signed Wilson to a one-year contract worth up to $10.5 million in free agency. They also signed veteran signal-caller Jameis Winston to a two-year deal worth $8 million. And when the 2025 NFL draft rolled around, Giants general manager Joe Schoen traded back into the first round at No. 25 overall to select quarterback Jaxson Dart.<\/p>\n

The Giants were infatuated with Cam Ward throughout the pre-draft process, but couldn’t convince the Tennessee Titans to move off the No. 1 pick. As a pivot, they brought in Wilson, Winston, and Dart. That strategy created a rather hectic QB room.<\/p>\n

Daboll and Schoen hope Dart is their quarterback of the future, and they hope they’re around long enough to see that through. For now, Wilson is the unquestioned starter, as they’ll lean on his veteran experience to navigate the beginning of a difficult season. A former Seahawk, Wilson is still finding opportunities to start.<\/p>\n
