After a 111-catch season in 2024, McBride makes his debut in the ‘NFL Top 100.’<\/p>\n
The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> now have two players in this year’s edition of the “NFL Top 100,” the yearly ranking of the top 100 player in the league, as voted on by the players themselves. New outside linebacker Josh Sweat made his debut in the top 100<\/a> at No. 95.<\/p>\n Cardinals player No. 2 to make the list is no surprise. It is tight end Trey McBride, who had a career season in 2024.<\/p>\n He comes in at No. 65, making his top 100 debut.<\/p>\n Seattle Seahawks<\/a> safety Julian Love said that McBride deserved a spot in the top 100 “because of his production alone this year.”<\/p>\n He had 111 receptions for 1,146 yards. He trailed only Brock Bowers in receptions and receiving yards by a tight end.<\/p>\n Love mentioned the many hurdles that McBride had last season, which increased his yards per catch. “Breaking tackles, getting extra yardage, playing with swag, playing with energy \u2014 he’s a problem,” he said.<\/p>\n McBride said the leaping in the air is “just a reaction,” especially since defensive backs often try to tackle him low. “I don’t recommend it by any means,” he added.<\/p>\n When the Cardinals played the Green Bay Packers last season, safety Xavier McKinney didn’t know much about McBride. After he had eight receptions for 96 yards in the loss to the Packers, he realized that “he is legit.”<\/p>\n McKinney said McBride reminds him of a younger version of San Francisco 49ers<\/a> star tight end George Kittle, who happens to be the only tight end getting paid more.<\/p>\n What is next for McBride in 2025?
