{"id":236212,"date":"2025-07-25T23:40:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T23:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/236212\/"},"modified":"2025-07-25T23:40:11","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T23:40:11","slug":"former-patriots-starter-lands-with-nfc-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/236212\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Patriots Starter Lands With NFC Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been over five years since the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shocked the sports world and signed New England Patriots legend Tom Brady.<\/p>\n<p>The Buccaneers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.buccaneers.com\/news\/buccaneers-sign-michael-jordan-tyler-mclellan\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">signed<\/a> another former member of the Patriots on Friday and while he\u2019s not a future Hall of Famer like Brady, he shares a name with a fellow \u201cGOAT.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuccaneers Sign Michael Jordan, Tyler McLellan,\u201d Tampa Bay\u2019s communications department\u2019s official X account posted.<\/p>\n<p>Guard Michael Jordan was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and spent the first two years of his career with the team. Jordan played 27 games in Cincinnati, starting 19 of them, before being waived ahead of the 2021 season.<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio State product then signed with the Carolina Panthers and played 28 games with the NFC South club (making 10 starts) during the 2021 and 2022 campaigns. Jordan was released before the 2023 season and joined the Green Bay Packers practice squad that September but didn\u2019t appear in any games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>New England signed the 27-year-old to a reserve\/future contract in January 2024, and he spent most of that season bouncing between the Patriots\u2019 practice squad and active roster.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Jordan appeared in 12 games with New England and made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JordMi01.htm#defense\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">career-high<\/a> 11 starts, playing 685 offensive snaps and 42 more on special teams.
