According to <a href=\"https:\/\/3downnation.com\/2025\/05\/01\/ottawa-redblacks-sign-former-pittsburgh-steelers-rb-jaylen-samuels-five-others\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">3DownNation<\/a>, the Ottawa Redblacks have signed Samuels.<\/p>\n<p id=\"irn4yS\">Samuels was on the Steelers roster from 2018-20 as a rotational running back. His best year came as a rookie in 2018, where he had 256 yards on the ground. He scored his first touchdown in 2019, but became a smaller part of the offense in 2020, where he only had nine carries. <\/p>\n<p id=\"0Q5bSg\">The Steelers drafted Samuels in the fifth round of the 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sbnation.com\/nfl-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NFL Draft<\/a>. During his tenure with Pittsburgh, he largely served as the team\u2019s third-down back, backing up James Conner, Benny Snell Jr., and Anthony McFarland. He last appeared in a game in 2021 as a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.battleredblog.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Houston Texans<\/a>. In four NFL seasons, Samuels had 468 yards and one touchdown with Pittsburgh and Houston.
