Chicago Bears<\/a> wide receiver Rome Odunze is getting more comfortable in his role as a leader in Year 2, and he’s already impressed by a rookie addition — tight end Colston Loveland, who was selected 10th overall.<\/p>\n

Loveland not only adds a high-level pass catching weapon for quarterback Caleb Williams, but he’s paired with Cole Kmet in Ben Johnson’s offense, which features a lot of 12-personnel.<\/p>\n

Recently, Odunze was asked about his new rookie teammate and paid him plenty of compliments for what he’s seen on the field, where he essentially said Loveland is the prototypical tight end.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreat hands, very agile, can block,” Odunze said. “So he\u2019s everything you kind of desire in a tight end.\u201d<\/p>\n

In their own respective ways, both Odunze and Loveland will have an opportunity to contribute in a major way this season under new head coach Ben Johnson’s offense. Not only does Loveland bring his own skillset to the tight end position, but he could create a dynamic duo pairing along with Kmet, who has established himself as one of the better pass catching tight ends in the league.<\/p>\n

With young standout players like Odunze and Loveland in place for Williams, the Bears have plenty of youth to build around with their new coaching staff.<\/p>\n
