A new College Football<\/a> season continues to take shape, and strong preparation \u2014 along with a talented roster \u2014 is essential for success. Kalen DeBoer knows this well, and he\u2019s fully aware that the Alabama Crimson Tide have everything they need to keep improving day by day.<\/p>\n

This may sound like a serious warning to the rest of Alabama<\/a>\u2019s rivals, who will need to stay alert as the competition unfolds. There\u2019s one particular area that the head coach is looking to elevate significantly \u2014 and it could make all the difference.<\/p>\n

Offense has always been a hallmark of DeBoer\u2019s teams, and in this case, the focus is on giving tight ends a more prominent role. In a recent conversation with the press, the head coach discussed the progress in this area and how they\u2019ve been handling injuries related to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will continue to get better and better,\u201d he said during a media opportunity on Wednesday. \u201cIt\u2019s in a good spot. This was gonna be how it was when the injuries happened. [Josh] Cuevas is gonna continue to add volume, I think that\u2019s the best word to use, because he\u2019s practicing. Danny Lewis is the same way. They\u2019re adding volume.<\/p>\n

He also added: \u201cAnd the rest of the guys, Marshall [Prickett] you know didn\u2019t practice at the end of the spring with what he had. Couple of other guys too are all full go. We\u2019ve got more tight ends out there now than we could have ever imagined. But they\u2019re all competing and working together to do a big job.\u201d<\/p>\n

Confidence is high in Alabama\u2019s running backs<\/p>\n

DeBoer<\/a> isn\u2019t just focused on strengthening the tight end group \u2014 he\u2019s also placing strong emphasis on what his running backs can bring to the offense starting in Week 1 of the College Football season.<\/p>\n

\u201cSure, you\u2019ve got Rich Young, Daniel Hill coming back also,\u201d the HC said via On3.com. \u201cI feel like those guys were healthier than they probably ever were last season, throughout the year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen Dre, Dre Washington. I thought he had a really nice practice today. You can see a new guy that\u2019s come in and now you\u2019re seeing the install a second, third time from spring, summer, to fall. Just like we were talking about with the quarterback position and how it\u2019s clicking more. So, he\u2019s got himself right in the mix there, for sure as we kind of narrow it down.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeBoer\u2019s words reflect the particular confidence he has in his players, as he hopes they can stay healthy throughout the season to accomplish big things moving forward.<\/p>\n
