THE BALTIMORE RAVENS have been handed a devastating injury blow after Isaiah Likely was carted off the practice field.<\/p>\n

The tight end is a key target for quarterback Lamar Jackson<\/a> ahead of the 2025 NFL<\/a> season.<\/p>\n

Likely, 25, was forced off the training field towards the end of practice on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

It appeared that he had injured his lower leg.<\/p>\n

The Ravens<\/a> have now confirmed that the injury is more serious and could put him in doubt for Week 1.<\/p>\n

ESPN reported that the star suffered a small foot fracture during the training session.<\/p>\n

There are hopes that he could be back in time for the season opener against the Buffalo Bills<\/a> at the Highmark Stadium on September 7.<\/p>\n

But Likely will likely miss the pre-season matches against the Indianapolis Colts<\/a> on August 8 and the Dallas Cowboys<\/a> the following week.<\/p>\n

He would also be out of the final pre-season test against the Washington Commanders<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Head coach John Harbaugh<\/a> has confirmed that Likely will have to undergo surgery.<\/p>\n

He said: “He’s going to have surgery.<\/p>\n

“I think the timeline I saw [roughly six weeks] was actually was accurate that was reported, so we have a shot to get him back there right away early.<\/p>\n

“We’ll see. That’s the good news.<\/p>\n

“It’s early in camp, and it’s not one of those major type of deals, but it’s something. It’s multiple weeks.”<\/p>\n

Harbaugh also revealed that he and General Manager Eric DeCosta were present when Likely was told his results.<\/p>\n

He admitted it was a “tough few minutes” but that the tight-end was in “great spirits”.<\/p>\n

Likely was also boosted by the fact that he will not need to use crutches.<\/p>\n

He starred for the Ravens last season with a career-high 477 yards and 42 catches along with six touchdowns.<\/p>\n

Should he be unable to start the season then Mark Andrews will try to solidify himself his own key role in the team.<\/p>\n
