The Green Bay Packers are heading into a season where anything could happen. The defense has several questions to answer, but the offense is loaded with weapons. Still, the success of the season hinges entirely on Jordan Love.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s Jordan Love time. Only one offensive player on the roster (two-time Pro Bowl guard Elgton Jenkins), and three players in total, predate the quarterback\u2019s time with the team. He\u2019s on a top-of-market deal, so the onus is on him to start lifting his teammates rather than the other way around. The roster\u2019s still solid, but competitions at left tackle and receiver will help set the course for how far the team can go, and Love\u2019s work through any bumps at those spots will be key,\u201d SI\u2019s Albert Breer wrote.<\/p>\n

Love has one of the league\u2019s more intriguing backups in Malik Willis<\/a>. Last year, Willis stepped up when Love went down with an injury. Bleacher Report\u2019s Kevin Knox recently predicted that the Los Angeles Rams could explore trading for Willis.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Rams should have some interest in Willis as a potential heir to Stafford. While his play style is different than Stafford’s, he’s flashed in a LaFleur offense that is similar to McVay’s\u2014LaFleur was the Rams’ offensive coordinator in 2017,\u201d Knox wrote.<\/p>\n

With Matthew Stafford getting older, adding Willis wouldn\u2019t be a bad move. Stafford entered training camp dealing with a bad back and is questionable for Week 1.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd rushing him back, where he could potentially have an unnecessary setback, that just does not make sense. We (The Rams) are fortunate to have the luxury of a player like him, that you do not minimize the importance of practices, but this is the best thing for him and for our football team,\u201d Rams head coach Sean McVay said.<\/p>\n

Willis is still young and simply needs another opportunity to prove he can be a franchise quarterback. Los Angeles could offer him just that.
