Yet, making the decision to draft Bo Nix with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft has drastically brightened the Broncos\u2019 future.<\/p>\n<p>Now, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25192177-ranking-nfls-most-exciting-young-cores-after-2025-nfl-draft\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Bleacher Report\u2019s Brad Gagnon;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Bleacher Report\u2019s Brad Gagnon<\/a>, Nix, Patrick Surtain II, and 2025 first-round pick Jahdae Barron compose the NFL\u2019s \u201cmost exciting young core\u201d of talent. Gagnon also added receiver Marvin Mims Jr, and running back RJ Harvey to that list, but it\u2019s Nix and Surtain that carry the Broncos to the top.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf your \u2018young core\u2019 includes the Defensive Player of the Year, it\u2019s gonna be hard to top. So yeah, Surtain pulls a lot of weight on his own. Now he\u2019s joined by the first-round rookie Barron, which is just ridiculous.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And then offensively you have Nix coming off an extremely promising rookie campaign in which he posted a 126.0 passer rating in his last three regular-season games, as well as the intriguing-yet-still-unproven Mims (who at least scored six times as a sophomore in \u201824), a rookie second-rounder in Harvey and another young wild card in rookie third-rounder Pat Bryant.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a damn exciting time to be a Broncos fan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bleacher Report on Broncos having NFL\u2019s most exciting young core<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The Broncos are poised to have arguably the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsnaut.com\/nfl\/lists\/nfl-defense-rankings-2025-after-nfl-free-agency\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:NFL\u2019s best defense;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">NFL\u2019s best defense<\/a>, and Surtain as the reigning DPOY is a big reason why. Yet, they\u2019ve only further added to an existing strength by acquiring Talanoa Hufanga, Dre Greenlaw, and Barron too. Add it all up, and the Broncos\u2019 defense looks elite.<\/p>\n<p>Can the offense continue its growth too? With Sean Payton calling the shots, refining Nix\u2019s skillset, the Broncos\u2019 arrow is pointed straight up after surprisingly reaching the Wild Card in their QB\u2019s rookie season.<\/p>\n<p>The question now is, are the Broncos ready to take the next step from one-and-done in the playoffs to a true Super Bowl contender?
