Ever since the NFL Draft, when Shedeur Sanders slipped to the fifth round, people have been claiming the Colorado Buffaloes product isn\u2019t getting a fair shake.<\/p>\n
Even now, as a member of the Cleveland Browns, some believe the rookie quarterback is being given the shaft instead of getting a chance to compete for the starting job.<\/p>\n

Since camp began, Gabriel has reportedly moved up to the No. 2 spot<\/a> ahead of Pickett, while Sanders hasn\u2019t gotten any time with the first-team offense (though he has played against the first-team defense<\/a>).<\/p>\n Sanders\u2019 draft-weekend slide was a shocker to many watching at home, including father Deion Sanders. Even his eventual selection by the Browns felt odd given that they\u2019d already selected Gabriel two rounds earlier.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Carman warns those who think all of this means the team is purposefully burying Sanders.<\/p>\n \u201cHow many jerseys did he already sell? How many autographs has he already signed in Greater Cleveland? How many events has he already had in Greater Cleveland?\u201d Carman asked. \u201cHow much charitable contribution has this man made to society over the last umpteen years here, or at least the last four since he was at Jackson State, and certainly probably before because of who his father is. How many things has he done?\u201d<\/p>\n Cleveland\u2019s first preseason game takes place August 8 against the Carolina Panthers. You can be sure that whatever kind of playing time Sanders receives, if any, will be heavily scrutinized.<\/p>\n \t
