Los Angeles Rams<\/a> second-year running back Blake Corum didn’t have the greatest rookie season. The third-round pick out of Michigan rushed only 58 times for 207 yards in 17 games before he fractured his arm in Week 18 to miss the entire postseason.<\/p>\n

Now in Year 2, Corum remains the main backup to Kyren Williams but might have some pressure with rookie Jarquez Hunter sitting behind him. Corum, though, has noticed a clear difference between this season and this past season \u2014 specifically with his approach to the game.<\/p>\n

“Year 1, I was trying to be as perfect in everything that I did. I didn\u2019t want to make any mistakes. And that slowed me down a bit in terms of my capabilities,” he said<\/a>. “Now I\u2019m just out there letting it loose. I\u2019m playing at a lower weight, I feel faster, I feel more agile, I feel great. Between that and the game slowing down, that\u2019s the biggest difference.”<\/p>\n

That combination \u2014 not being a perfectionist and slimming down \u2014 will be crucial for his development in 2025. The Rams don’t need him to be a bellcow, but they’d likely want him to be a solid role player on the offense so Williams doesn’t always need to carry the full load.<\/p>\n

Corum and Hunter also play the position differently from each other and Williams. That trio of skillsets could open up the playbook a bit more for Sean McVay in 2025 and give Matthew Stafford more weapons to work with as the Rams look to make another playoff push.<\/p>\n
