And the good thing is, man, they look forward to it. That\u2019s what I\u2019m happy about more than anything is they look forward to the physical part.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Glenn also noted how the team \u201clooks forward to me stressing them mentally\u201d as part of the preparation, the roster needs to bounce back from a toiling 2024 season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey know it\u2019s going to help them, and they know it\u2019s going to help us as a team and as an organization, get to where we want to go,\u201d Glenn said.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-137786430\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/jetstrainingcamp-imagnimages-3.jpg\" alt=\"man in red jersey with number 7 on it and green jets helmet holds football, about to throw\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" title=\"Jets ditch norms, go full contact early in training camp to forge tougher team identity 2\"  \/>Quarterback Justin Fields returned to full practice on July 28, 2025 after his injury scare on Thursday.John Jones-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Quarterback Justin Fields returned to full practice as well after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/sports\/jets-scare-qb-justin-fields-injury-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">his injury scare on Thursday<\/a>. He was held back from practicing on Friday, instead watching from the sidelines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was limited, but he was limited the way that we want to be limited,\u201d Glenn said. \u201cHe made some good throws out there. And again, when Justin gets on the field, we\u2019re going to let him be who he is. There are some things he did today that I was very pleased with, but also some things he needs to get better at, too \u2014 he knows that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Glenn\u2019s hopeful vision for a new look Jets offense seems to be falling into place after the franchise lost Tyler Conklin in March when free agency opened. He called the tight-end spot his own for three seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Jets drafted Mason Taylor out of LSU using their No. 42 pick in the second round of the draft and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RichCimini\/status\/1948872978730811474\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">ESPN\u2019s Rich Cimini tweeted<\/a> that the young tight end \u201clooks like he belongs.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He could be an exciting playmaking foil for Fields, who already has an arsenal containing contract-extended receivers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/sports\/jets-extend-sauce-gardner-7-15-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Sauce Gardner <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amny.com\/sports\/jets-garrett-wilson-4-year-ext-7-15-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Garret Wilson<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Jets also picked up former Rams WR Tyler Johnson in free agency, and Glenn seems to think he could be an essential piece of the puzzle.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was smart, understood exactly where to sit in the zone, how to create leverage in man,\u201d Glenn said. \u201cHe might not be the fastest guy, he might not be the quickest, but when you\u2019re smart as he is, you can create things that other guys with all that speed can\u2019t because he understands leverage.
