By and large, the national media doesn\u2019t seem to be overly optimistic about the 2025 Seattle Seahawks. Most offseason power rankings have them slotted around middle of the pack or slightly worse.<\/p>\n

But one national reporter sees it a bit differently.<\/p>\n

News and observations from Seahawks\u2019 practice at Lumen Field<\/a><\/p>\n

During a recent appearance on Seattle Sports\u2019 Brock and Salk, Sports Illustrated senior NFL writer Albert Breer<\/a> shared a brighter outlook on the Seahawks than most.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually think the roster is pretty decent,\u201d Breer said. \u201cThey sort of strike me like the Packers in this way where they\u2019ve done a good job over the last few years of drafting solid players onto the roster. Now the question is, can some of those guys elevate to another level?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

That question is central to Seattle\u2019s long-term trajectory.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks have accumulated a promising crop of young talent in recent years \u2013 highlighted by wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, cornerbacks Devon Witherspoon and Riq Woolen, offensive tackles Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas, running back Kenneth Walker III, edge rushers Boye Mafe and Derick Hall, defensive tackle Byron Murphy II and safety Coby Bryant.<\/p>\n

All those players have shown potential. And all of them are still on their rookie contracts.<\/p>\n

But it remains to be seen how many can take that next step and solidify themselves as legitimate blue-chip talents.<\/p>\n

\u201cCharles Cross looks to me like a guy who\u2019s got the potential to elevate into a top-five left tackle. Can he become that?\u201d Breer said. \u201cJaxon Smith-Njigba showed he could be a No. 1 guy (as) the focal point of an offense last year, but can he really elevate and become a true difference-maker? Or can Witherspoon be one of the best corners in football?<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got a lot of young guys who can play,\u201d Breer added. \u201c\u2026 Can those guys elevate and find another level?\u201d<\/p>\n
