{"id":263169,"date":"2025-08-05T07:43:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T07:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/263169\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T07:43:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T07:43:10","slug":"los-angeles-chargers-lb-denzel-perryman-released-from-jail-weapons-charges-dropped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/263169\/","title":{"rendered":"Los Angeles Chargers LB Denzel Perryman released from jail, weapons charges dropped"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/los-angeles-chargers\/357\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Los Angeles Chargers;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Los Angeles Chargers<\/a> linebacker <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/players\/denzel-perryman\/605473\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Denzel Perryman;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Denzel Perryman<\/a> was released from Los Angeles County jail on Monday, Aug. 4 after Los Angeles County District Attorney&#8217;s Office decided not to file criminal charges following <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/article\/chargers-linebacker-denzel-perryman-arrested-143551347.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Perryman\u2019s arrest;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Perryman\u2019s arrest<\/a> on weapons violation charges, online records show.<\/p>\n<p>Perryman, 32, was stopped Friday, Aug. 1 by South Los Angeles Station deputies for vehicle code violations, authorities said, and during a search deputies discovered five firearms in Perryman\u2019s vehicle, two of which were assault style rifles.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was arrested and booked on weapons violation charges and was cooperative with deputies,&#8221; Los Angeles County Sheriff&#8217;s Department said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Perryman was being held without bail at the South Los Angeles Sheriff\u2019s Station and was scheduled to appear at Inglewood Court on Tuesday, Aug. 5.<\/p>\n<p>But he was released from jail Monday after the District Attorney&#8217;s Office decided not to press charges.<\/p>\n<p>Perryman is in his second stint with the Chargers, having played for them from 2015, when he was a second-round pick by the team when they were in San Diego, until 2020. Perryman also played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/las-vegas-raiders\/341\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Las Vegas Raiders;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Las Vegas Raiders<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/houston-texans\/325\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Houston Texans;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Houston Texans<\/a>\u00a0before returning to the Chargers for the 2024 season.
