Jerry Jones is not backing down.<\/p>\n

Neither is Micah Parsons<\/a>, as the biggest topic of NFL<\/a> training camp drags into the first week of preseason games. <\/p>\n

“Absolutely not,” said Jones, when discussing his confidence in Parsons being available for the Dallas Cowboys<\/a>‘ season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> on September 4.<\/p>\n

“A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that?”<\/p>\n

Parsons stunned the league last week by tweeting that he wants to be traded<\/a> by the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

“I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization, our fans and my teammates,” Parsons posted. <\/p>\n

“I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me.”<\/p>\n

With Jones playing hardball and Cowboys teammates rallying around Parsons, a once-unthinkable trade has become more likely — especially if Parsons continues to stay off the practice field.<\/p>\n

NFL legend keeps eye on drama<\/p>\n

With pressure mounting on all sides, one of the best defenders in NFL history couldn’t help but take notice.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf @_micahparsons11 go to the Rams, I might have to … get in football shape,\u201d Aaron Donald wrote. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat D-line would be unreal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Donald was a one-man wrecking crew in the pros, racking up 10 Pro Bowl selections, three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards and eight All-Pro honors.<\/p>\n

He also won the Super Bowl<\/a> with the Los Angeles Rams in 2022, and is a surefire Hall of Famer.<\/p>\n

Donald, who retired in March 2024 after 10 seasons, was an All-Pro in his final campaign.<\/p>\n

The Rams have recently been practicing with the Cowboys, allowing the former first-round pick to keep tabs on his old team and Dallas’ daily controversy.<\/p>\n

Win-win blockbuster deal<\/p>\n

Many NFL fans want Parsons to move on from the Cowboys and Jones, who’s continually dragged out contract negotiations<\/a> with his star players and still operates with old-fashioned ‘handshake deals.’<\/p>\n

The thought of Donald and Parsons teaming up drove social media into a frenzy.<\/p>\n

While the Rams are dealing with an injury to veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford<\/a>, receivers Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and Tyler Higbee can create a high-powered Sean McVay<\/a> offense.<\/p>\n

But the real trick would be having reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, Parsons and an unretired Donald leading the same monster defense. <\/p>\n

“Pass rush would be unstoppable,” a fan tweeted. <\/p>\n

“If this fantasy I wanna live in came true, we would have the undisputed greatest defensive line of all time,” a second fan wrote. <\/p>\n

“That wouldn\u2019t be fair LOL,” a third fan posted.<\/p>\n

The Rams open their 2025 preseason on Saturday against the Cowboys.<\/p>\n
