When it comes to the hope that Milroe could one day be the starter for the Seahawks, though, Seattle Sports\u2019 Brock Huard<\/a> says there\u2019s good news. The longtime football analyst and former NFL QB explained that while Milroe\u2019s throwing ability comes with concerns, he has a good foundation to work from that some other QBs coming out of college previously haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n \u201cThe positive is it is a short, quick release stroke,\u201d Huard said on Monday\u2019s edition of Brock and Salk<\/a>, coming after the Seahawks\u2019 two-day rookie minicamp. \u201c\u2026 The nice thing is from just a muscle memory (standpoint), the upper body delivery (is) clean. It is really, really clean.\u201d<\/p>\n The first look at @JalenMilroe<\/a>. pic.twitter.com\/4kPDBTGZKu<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Seattle Seahawks (@Seahawks) May 3, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Huard compared Milroe\u2019s starting point to Tim Tebow, who famously struggled to stick in the NFL after a storied college career at Florida.<\/p>\n \u201cPoor Tim Tebow tried to go see (renowned QB tutor) Tom House<\/a>, tried to throw 10,000 throws to rearrange his muscle memory so he wasn\u2019t so elongated \u2013 he couldn\u2019t do it. Once that gets set, can\u2019t do it,\u201d Huard said.<\/p>\n In fact, Huard believes that throwing-wise, Milroe\u2019s throwing motion is \u201ccleaner\u201d than an All-Pro he\u2019s been compared to in terms of athleticism: Baltimore\u2019s Lamar Jackson.<\/p>\n \u201cLamar is kind of a low slinger,\u201d Huard said. \u201c\u2026 A lot of it (with Milroe), you\u2019re like, oh, that\u2019s it. I can work with that.\u201d<\/p>\n More: How Seahawks\u2019 Jalen Milroe aims to improve as a passer<\/a><\/p>\n Obviously Milroe, whose passing stats dipped in 2024 with the Crimson Tide, still has something still to work on.<\/p>\n \u201cNow the lower half and working from the ground up and the quick footwork and the speed and the ground force\u2026 that\u2019s going to be the most important part \u2013 connecting the upper to the lower (at) full speed,\u201d Huard said. \u201cI\u2019m not talking half-reps, I\u2019m not talking three-quarter speed in shorts. I\u2019m talking when the live bullets are coming. I\u2019m talking when that blitz is coming. I\u2019m talking when you don\u2019t know what the picture is.<\/p>\n \u201cCan all those things be connected \u2013 upper and lower body?
