Micah Parsons\u2019 ongoing contract standoff with the Dallas Cowboys has sparked trade rumors, and the Seattle Seahawks could be the team ready to pay big draft capital to acquire the star pass rusher.<\/p>\n

Since requesting a trade last weekend<\/a>, there have been several trade predictions about what a package for Parsons would look like. Moreover, there have been opinions regarding whether a team should get aggressive and make an offer for the Penn St. product.<\/p>\n

Any trade for Parsons would involve giving up a hefty amount of draft capital. The question is whether a team like the Seahawks would want to do so, and former NFL wide receiver\u00a0Michael Bumpus\u00a0believes they should.<\/p>\n

“Yes, it would be worth it,\u201d Bumpus said on Seattle Sports’ “Bump and Stacy.”<\/a>\u00a0“There are no other Micah Parsons walking the earth as far as I know. \u2026 The name of the game is to get the quarterback. If you are able to do that at a high clip, and be supported in other places (on the roster), you have an opportunity here.”<\/p>\n

Last season, Seattle finished 10th in sacks with 45 and seventh in quarterback pressures with 160. Adding a player of Parsons\u2019 caliber would push that defense to the top to make them among the elite.<\/p>\n

The Seahawks also have the cap space to make a move like this work. Seattle ranks sixth in available cap space for 2025 ($34.7 million), sixth again in 2026 ($53.2 million), and 13th in 2027 ($129.4 million), per OverTheCap.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Seattle having a very good defense and cap space, co-host Stacy Rost agreed with Bumpus that the Seahawks should look to get aggressive and push for Parsons.<\/p>\n

“Of course, you don\u2019t fundamentally need Micah Parsons,” Rost\u00a0added. “But why would you not want Micah Parsons? Micah Parsons is maybe the most talented defensive player in football right now \u2013 at least top three or four. He is better than any defensive player on your roster, and you have a really good defense. \u2026 You\u2019ve got a lot of really talented guys.
