The Detroit Lions practiced on Wednesday in Allen Park, before then departing to Atlanta for Friday night’s preseason game with the Falcons.<\/p>\n
The Lions offense has struggled most of training camp against the Detroit defense, and today was no exceptions.<\/p>\n
Despite the early struggles, head coach Dan Campbell believes his offense is very close to turning the corner. <\/p>\n
“I do believe our defense is – we\u2019re playing pretty good right now, we\u2019re practicing well, we\u2019re running pretty efficient. So I think they\u2019re a handful right now and then offensively, certainly we want to be clicking a little bit better, but I also know we\u2019re like this far away.” said Campbell. <\/p>\n
“And it\u2019s just that\u2019s how it works with offense, especially early, it\u2019s one guy here, one guy here, one guy here and it\u2019s just the little minute details. They\u2019re all correctable, that\u2019s what\u2019s awesome. So, we\u2019re growing, we\u2019re getting better, I love the fact that we\u2019re being challenged on both sides, we really are. I feel like we\u2019re challenging each other.\u201d<\/p>\n
Campbell has not decided how many of his starters, if any, will play in Friday’s game, but he did say that he is considering playing the teams first two draft picks, DL Tyleik Williams and OL Tate Ratledge.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, I\u2019m thinking about that.
