Aaron Rodgers<\/a> knows what makes a good wide receiver.<\/p>\n

You need good hands, have speed, ability to go get the ball and beat any defender in one-on-one situations.<\/p>\n

As a student of the game and a quarterback in the NFL for 20 years, the Packers<\/a> legend has seen the best and been around the best.<\/p>\n

Some, according to the new Pittsburgh Steelers QB<\/a>, were in his own locker room in Green Bay.<\/p>\n

Rodgers was asked by CBS Sports’ Bryant McFadden, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Steelers<\/a>, this week during training camp to give him the top all-time wide receiver based on characteristic.<\/p>\n

He could name anyone past or present. And yes, Rodgers included a couple of his former Packers teammates.<\/p>\n

When it comes to speed, Rodgers said the best is Julio Jones, a two-time All-Pro who spent 13 years in the NFL, primarily with the Atlanta Falcons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As far as size, Rodgers went with one of his new teammates in DK Metcalf,<\/a> who stands 6-feet-4 and is a chiseled 229 pounds.<\/p>\n

A top-tier wide receiver needs great hands. And the best, according to Rodgers, is a Packers fan favorite.<\/p>\n

“Jordy Nelson,” Rodgers said with a smile.<\/p>\n

“Imma throw in some of my guys here,” Rodgers told McFadden.<\/p>\n

Nelson, a member of the Packers Hall of Fame<\/a>, was teammates with Rodgers in Green Bay for nine years (2008-17). The chemistry between Nelson and Rodgers was undeniable<\/a>. In Super Bowl XLV in 2011, with Rodgers throwing darts across Cowboys Stadium, Nelson had a team-high nine receptions and a game-high 140 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n

Nelson ranks among the top Packers wide receivers in several franchise all-time receiving categories.<\/p>\n

As for “high point ability,” Rodgers had to think about that for a second before listing Minnesota Vikings legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, Mossin’ people,” Rodgers said, noting the tagline that Moss was known for in posterizing defensive backs.<\/p>\n

If you play with Rodgers, you need a high football IQ. So what wide receiver has the best?<\/p>\n

Without hesitation, Rodgers included another former Packer: Davante Adams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“I mean one of the smartest players,” Rodgers said.<\/p>\n

Rodgers played with Adams for eight seasons in Green Bay (2014-21) and reunited for 11 games last year with the New York Jets<\/a>. Adams signed with the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> this offseason. Adams has the most catches, yards and touchdowns from Rodgers of any wide receiver.<\/p>\n

“I was hoping there was something about (wide receivers’) releases,” Rodgers added about the line of questioning. “I was kinda saving, I gotta get Davante in there somewhere. The best line of scrimmage (moves) I’ve ever seen.”<\/p>\n

Rodgers and the Steelers<\/a> will begin their preseason schedule on Saturday, Aug. 9, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n
