EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) \u2014 The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they have re-signed former UTEP football offensive lineman Will Hernandez to a one-year contract.<\/p>\n

Last season, Hernandez started the first five games at right guard before he suffered a season-ending ACL tear in the Cardinals\u2019 Week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n

In a late July, Hernandez announced that he was officially cleared on X.<\/p>\n

Despite the medical clearance, the Cardinals have placed him on the Active\/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list\u2014a precautionary move as he works his way back to full strength.<\/p>\n

Originally a second-round pick by the New York Giants in 2018, Hernandez joined the Cardinals in 2022 and quickly became a key piece of the offensive line. Before his injury last season, he brought physicality and experience to Arizona\u2019s interior blocking unit.<\/p>\n

For Hernandez, a former UTEP standout, the new deal marks both a fresh opportunity and a vote of confidence from the organization as he aims to bounce back in 2025.<\/p>\n
