As Micah Parsons<\/a> and the Dallas Cowboys deal with the fallout from his trade request, CeeDee Lamb<\/a> offered his reaction Friday. He expressed his disappointment in the franchise\u2019s lack of action amid the situation.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a week since Parsons went public with his trade request amid contract talks with the Cowboys. Since then, he has been at practice, though not participating. However, he was reportedly receiving treatment Thursday for back tightness<\/a> in the situation\u2019s latest wrinkle.<\/p>\n

Jerry Jones didn\u2019t express much confidence<\/a> Parsons would be in a Cowboys uniform for Week 1. Lamb, however, took a different tone. He predicted the star linebacker would still be with the franchise, but acknowledged Parsons has to do what\u2019s best for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like he\u2019s gonna be here,\u201d Lamb said, via The Athletic\u2019s Jon Machota<\/a>. \u201cReaction was crazy. A little disappointed (in the process). But it is what it is. You gotta do what you gotta do and he\u2019s gotta do what\u2019s best for him and his family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parsons and the Cowboys held talks about a new contract in the spring, but nothing came together as the offseason program rolled along and training camp approached. Things went to a new level last week when Parsons went public with his request to be traded.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Myles Garrett<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0T.J. Watt<\/a>\u00a0both became $40 million-per-year players, which shows where the market stands. The expectation was Parsons would also reach that threshold. Instead, the situation is taking another turn.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Jones has waited to sign a player to a big contract. It happened to Lamb last year, as well as quarterback Dak Prescott<\/a>, before they wound up signing lucrative deals. Jones defended that approach<\/a>, pointing out the chain of events when he bought the Cowboys in 1989.<\/p>\n

\u201cI bought the Cowboys with a handshake,\u201d Jones\u00a0said this week. \u201cIt took about 30 seconds. I gave the number, shook hands, the details we worked out later. As a matter of fact, one of the details involved a lot of money, and we had to flip a coin over that, but the fundamental I\u2019m buying and you\u2019re gonna sell it to me for that range, that\u2019s done. Those are done with eye contact and handshakes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Cowboys are making their final preparations for their preseason opener this week as the Micah Parsons situation continues to unfold.
