In a recent episode of the Up & Adams Show, Adams floated a playful yet intriguing idea: putting 350-pound defensive tackle Vita Vea in on goal-line situations on offense.

“You’ve got a 350-pound freight train in Vita Vea,” Adams said with a grin. “Why not give him the ball at the one-yard line? Who’s stopping that?” Could the Bucs realistically weaponize one of the NFL’s most dominant interior defenders on offense?”

The idea isn’t without precedent. Vea has lined up on offense before in heavy goal-line packages, serving primarily as a lead blocker. In fact, the 6-foot-4 nose tackle even scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown back in 2019, bulldozing into the end zone to the delight of teammates and fans alike. Tampa Bay’s coaching staff has occasionally hinted at using Vea creatively, and his freakish combination of size, strength, and agility makes him a rare breed, even among elite NFL linemen.Adams’ suggestion falls in line with a long-running NFL fan tradition: imagining larger-than-life players in unorthodox roles. From William “The Refrigerator” Perry’s touchdown runs with the 1985 Bears to J.J. Watt’s red zone appearances in Houston, fans have long loved seeing defenders moonlight as offensive weapons. Vita Vea might just be the next cult favorite to fit that mold, if only the Buccaneers are bold enough to try it again.

Whether or not it happens, fans will certainly be watching next time the Bucs get to the 1-yard line, just in case No. 50 trots onto the field with more than just blocking in mind.

This article originally appeared on Bucs Wire: Kay Adams asks the question no one has an answer to with the Vita Vea

NFL media personality Kay Adams has never been shy about sharing bold takes, but her latest suggestion has…

[2077
53226,211,7,221,53227,9628,9892,9596,6,704,250,2597,2596,9752
0":"post-275019","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tampa-bay-buccaneers","8":"tag-adams-show","9":"tag-buccaneers","10":"tag-football","11":"tag-houston","12":"tag-intriguing-idea","13":"tag-j-j-watt","14":"tag-kay-adams","15":"tag-ndamukong-suh","16":"tag-nfl","17":"tag-tampa-bay","18":"tag-tampa-bay-buccaneers","19":"tag-tampabay","20":"tag-tampabaybuccaneers","21":"tag-vita-vea
["GET
