{"id":276799,"date":"2025-08-10T11:42:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-10T11:42:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/276799\/"},"modified":"2025-08-10T11:42:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-10T11:42:14","slug":"ex-raiders-coach-antonio-pierce-spotted-at-archrivals-training-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/276799\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-Raiders coach Antonio Pierce spotted at archrival&#8217;s training camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LAS VEGAS (KSNV)  \u2014 Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce appears to have traded in the Silver &amp; Black for Kansas City red and gold.<\/p>\n<p>Pierce was spotted at the division rival Chiefs&#8217; training camp on Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HaroldRKuntz3\/status\/1953092185278300525\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/HaroldRKuntz3\/status\/1953092185278300525\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow\">Video captured by FOX4 News&#8217; Harold Kuntz<\/a> showed him wearing a Chiefs hoodie and shorts as he walked with Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear what brought Pierce to the Chiefs&#8217; training camp, though he has a connection to the coaching staff.<\/p>\n<p>Spagnuolo was the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 2007 and 2008, when Pierce was a linebacker on the team. Their time together included the Giants&#8217; Super Bowl XLII victory over the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n<p>Initially hired as a linebackers coach for the Raiders, Pierce stepped into the role of interim head coach in 2023 following the firing of Josh McDaniels and went 5-4 to close out the year.<\/p>\n<p>He was hired permanently last offseason, but <a href=\"https:\/\/news3lv.com\/news\/local\/las-vegas-raiders-fire-head-coach-antonio-pierce-nfl-pro-football-sports-southern-nevada-mark-davis#\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/news3lv.com\/news\/local\/las-vegas-raiders-fire-head-coach-antonio-pierce-nfl-pro-football-sports-southern-nevada-mark-davis#\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the team fired him a year later<\/a> after going 4-13 for the 2024 season.<\/p>\n<p>Las Vegas has since hired Pete Carroll to take over as head coach. <\/p>\n<p>The Raiders and Chiefs have a bitter rivalry dating back to their days in the now-defunct American Football League. Kansas City leads the overall series 75-55-2, including a 2-0 record against Pierce&#8217;s Raiders last year.<\/p>\n<p>The Raiders play their first preseason game under Carroll at Seattle on Thursday.
