Kansas City has apparently seen the end of Zach Bryan<\/a>\u2019s live shows.<\/p>\n

The country star, 29, who supports the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL, engaged in an online war of words with a stream of Kansas City Chiefs fans on Friday, August 8, resulting in Bryan\u2019s X<\/a> declaration, \u201cPlease understand I will never play in Kansas City.\u201d<\/p>\n

The online feud started earlier that day when Bryan wrote via X<\/a>, \u201cWhere are all the three-peat people from last year?\u201d (The musician seemingly referenced the Chiefs\u2019 failed attempt to achieve three consecutive Super Bowl<\/a> titles when they faced off against the Eagles in February.)<\/p>\n

Bryan struck a chord with online Chiefs supporters who responded to his initial post with fury. One of the post\u2019s 160-odd comments read, \u201c3 Super Bowl wins 5 seasons. Eagles have won 2 in their 70 year history. Sit down Eagles fan from Oklahoma,\u201d while another annoyed Chiefs fan wrote, \u201cJust another abusive Eagles fan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUPDATE \u2014 9\/19\/2024, 9:35 a.m. ET: Country singer Zach Bryan issued an apology after tweeting about Taylor Swift and Kanye West. \u201cFor the record guys I wasn\u2019t coming for Taylor the other night,\u201d Bryan wrote via his Instagram Story on Thursday, September 19. \u201cI was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong.\u201d He [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

One particularly offended user wrote, \u201cTalking s*** in general is all good. He\u2019s singled out one fanbase. That same fanbase that sells out his shows,\u201d which evidently hit a nerve in Bryan and sparked his dramatic Kansas City announcement. (Bryan\u2019s declaration specifically replied to that comment.)<\/p>\n

The \u201cSomething in the Orange\u201d musician doubled down, explaining his decision to stop playing in Kansas City with the X<\/a> post, \u201cI\u2019ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call if I play at that stadium.\u201d (Bryan\u2019s post referenced Arrowhead Stadium which is the Chiefs\u2019 home ground.)<\/p>\n

Bryan\u2019s explanation did nothing but ignite the heated debate further, drawing more than 700 comments this time around.<\/p>\n

This was not the first time Bryan attracted controversy as a result of his passion for the Eagles. In September 2024, he shared an X post<\/a> that targeted Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. The post started off with \u201ceagles > chiefs\u201d and continued with, \u201cKanye > Taylor\u2026 Who\u2019s with me.\u201d (Kanye West and Swift, 35, have been involved in a public feud<\/a> for more than a decade.)<\/p>\n

Two days after Bryan\u2019s online jab went out, he took to Instagram to issue an apology. \u201cFor the record guys I wasn\u2019t coming for Taylor the other night,\u201d Bryan shared via his Instagram Stories at the time. \u201cI was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added in the apology post, \u201cI know there\u2019s a lot of stuff that clouds around Ye and I was speaking purely musically. I love Taylor\u2019s music and pray you guys know I\u2019m human and tweet stupid things often.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bryan also claimed the post was shared when he was intoxicated. \u201cI respect [Taylor] so much as a musician that the last thing I want is people thinking I don\u2019t appreciate and love what she has done for music,\u201d Bryan wrote. \u201cDon\u2019t drink and tweet.
