Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson<\/a> was carted off the practice field on Sunday night with a leg injury. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN<\/a>, Dickerson could not put any weight on his leg.<\/p>\n

Tim McManus of ESPN<\/a> reported that Dickerson\u2019s injury occurred late into a practice at Lincoln Financial Field. The offensive lineman went to the ground on a pass play, with quarterback Jalen Hurts<\/a> finding running back Saquon Barkley.<\/a><\/p>\n

After Dickerson went down, the crowd of around 50,000 went silent. Dickerson was helped off the field and rode the cart to the locker room. <\/p>\n

Landon Dickerson has become one of the top guards in the NFL after the Eagles selected him in the second round of the 2021 draft. In his four seasons, the former Alabama star has been named to the Pro Bowl three times and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl last year. <\/p>\n

In March of 2024, Dickerson signed a four-year, $84 million contract extension with the Eagles, making him the highest-paid guard in NFL history at the time. \u201cIt just shows a lot of respect, how much trust they have in me to continue to grow as a player, develop and do good things for this team and this City,\u201d Dickerson said at his press conference after signing the contract, per the Eagles\u2019 official website.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cGoing into my fourth year now, I think that I can absolutely step up and have more of that leadership role. The extension really shows the respect and the potential that the coaches and Howie (Roseman) think that I have as a player. That only makes me want to continually try to get better, keep improving on my game day after day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not having Dickerson in the starting lineup when the season begins next month would be a big blow to the Eagles\u2019 offense. A big reason Philadelphia won a championship last season is the offensive line that also includes All-Pro Jordan Mailata<\/a>, Pro Bowl selection Cam Jurgens<\/a> and future Hall of Famer Lane Johnson<\/a>.
