Would a Super Bowl win push Matthew Stafford to retire, or are Rams fans overthinking his future?<\/p>\n
It may be early to speculate about L.A.\u2019s chances to walk away from the season with a second Super Bowl victory with Sean McVay and Stafford, but the Rams are as real of contenders as any other team in the NFC. Perhaps the only thing standing in the way of McVay, Stafford and a second Super Bowl window are themselves.<\/p>\n
This week, Rams fans were posed the question of what would happen if the team won the Super Bowl this season: Would McVay and Stafford both return, both retire, or would one return and the other retire?<\/p>\n
With 68% of the votes, there was a very clear answer: Most Rams fans think that Stafford will retire and McVay will return if L.A. wins the next Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
If we include the other \u201cboth retire\u201d option, that actually means that 81% of Rams fans believe that Matthew Stafford will retire at age 37 if the Rams win the Super Bowl this season. But only 15% think McVay will retire, with only 2% of that number being a scenario where the head coach walks into the sunset and Stafford returns for 2026.<\/p>\n
Both return, both retire, or only Stafford retires?<\/p>\n
If the Rams win the next Super Bowl and McVay does surprise everyone by retiring at 40, would you be okay with that? Has he earned the right to leave the NFL without being second guessed or does he it owe to the Rams to try and build another dynasty?
