The Mets and the Yankees had posted a combined 4-16 record in their respective past 10 games through Sunday, and they sport two of the worst winning percentages in baseball for more than two months.<\/p>\n
Dare we say, then, there suddenly are more good feelings among New York sports fans about the Jets and the Giants \u2014 who finished last season with eight wins and 26 losses between them \u2014 than there are for the careening local MLB nines?<\/p>\n
Look, neither of our area NFL squads is likely to reach the playoffs in the 2025-26 campaign, while both the Mets and the Yankees still are really just one resurgent hot streak away from at least solidifying their places in the October tournament.<\/p>\n
