The Green Bay Packers waived a record-setting Alabama high school running back and added a former South Alabama<\/a> wide receiver on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

In 2019, Jalen White ran for 3,517 rushing yards for Daleville to set the Alabama high school single-season record<\/a>. <\/p>\n

After five seasons at Georgia Southern, White joined the Packers as an undrafted rookie in May. <\/p>\n

In Green Bay\u2019s preseason opener on Saturday, White ran for 16 yards on two carries, but he left the 30-10 loss to the New York Jets<\/a> because of a foot injury. The ailment kept him from practicing on Monday, and the Packers waived<\/a> White with an injured designation on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

If White goes unclaimed on waivers, he will revert to Green Bay\u2019s injured reserve on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

While White went on waivers, Kawaan Baker <\/a>came off waivers by being awarded to Green Bay on Tuesday. The Las Vegas Raiders had waived<\/a> the South Alabama alumnus on Monday.<\/p>\n

Baker signed <\/a>with the Raiders on Aug. 3 and played five offensive snaps in Las Vegas\u2019 23-23 tie with the Seahawks<\/a> in its preseason opener on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

Baker has been with the Packers previously. From Oct. 19 through Nov. 8 in 2022, the wide receiver was on the Green Bay practice squad.<\/p>\n

The Packers claimed Baker with five wide receivers dealing with injuries of varying degrees.<\/p>\n

In four seasons at South Alabama, Baker caught 126 passes for 1,829 yards and 16 touchdowns while also rushing 92 times for 376 yards and 11 touchdowns. Baker ranks sixth in receptions, fifth in receiving yards and tied for third in touchdown receptions on the Jaguars\u2019 career lists.<\/p>\n

Baker entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2021. He spent most of his rookie season on the New Orleans practice squad and had 27 special-teams plays in two regular-season games with the Saints that season.<\/p>\n

Since then, Baker has not played in a regular-season contest.<\/p>\n

Baker was on the practice squads of the Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Saints in 2022 after serving a six-game suspension<\/a> to open the season for violating the NFL\u2019s Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances.<\/p>\n

New Orleans waived Baker at the end of the preseason in 2023, and the New England Patriots waived Baker at the end of the preseason in 2024.<\/p>\n

The Packers play the second of their three preseason games at noon CDT Saturday, when Green Bay faces the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n
